The course was designed by Canadian golf architects Les Furber and Jim Eremko employing an "easy bogey, difficult birdie" strategy. Opened in 1993, the Karlstejn Golf Resort course is located amidst picturesque countryside just 45 minutes from Prague. Set in rugged terrain atop hills across the valley from the medieval, Gothic style, Karlstejn Castle, every hole affords a unique and spectacular view of this majestic castle of former Czech kings.

Utilising the naturally wooded, hilly landscape, limestone outcrops, rich flora and fauna, natural gorges, two lakes and many sand traps, the course at Karlstejn Golf Resort creates a satisfying challenge for even the most demanding of players.
