KOZEL BREWERY TOUR VELKE POPOVICE
Enjoy a visit to the little village of Velké Popovice and the home of the Kozel (billy goat) beer, this is situated just a short 40 minute drive south of Prague. Beer has been brewed in Velké Popovice since the 14th century, but in the 19th century the baron František Ringhoffer brought it really to life when he restored the old buildings and built a new brewery.
The name (Kozel) translated means billy goat, the connection goes back to 1874 when a French painter who was so impressed with the creamy delicious taste of the beer and the warm hospitality in the village that he presented as a gift a painting of a Kozel (billy goat), and so that became the symbol of the brewery and the beer.
On your tour you will be collected by coach from your Hotel and on arrival the guide will walk you through the very scenic courtyard to the brewery. Here you will see the process of the beer making and you will be informed of all ingredients used to make this wonderful beer, and off course you will taste the pure unfiltered, unpasteurized Kozel on tap. After the tour you will be transported back to Prague by coach and the tour finishes with drop of in the centre of Prague.

Start time and length of tour - The Kozel Brewery Tour is available in summer (31st March to 31st October) on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 14.00pm. In winter from (1st November to 31st March) on Tuesday and Saturday from 14.00pm. It lasts 4 hours, including transportation.
Price per person - Adults 750 CZK / 28 Euro, students same price.
