 Ice Hockey in the Czech Republic is probably even more popular than Football. The Czech National team is amongst the best in the world, with an estimated over 70,000 players it is hardly surprising. The Czech Extraliga as it is called has a total of 14 teams, the 2 clubs from Prague, HC Slavia Praha and HC Sparta Praha are normally in the Extraliga but from time to time they drop out of it if the teams are not performing, both are great rivals and games between these 2 in particular are well worth watching.

HC Slavia at the moment play in the 02 Arena in Prague 9, which is different than their official stadium address. They have won the title many times and participated in the Champions Hockey League in the 2008 - 9 season.
